Rare antique collector's item – 925 silver signet ring with bar (ca. 1900)
This extraordinary piece is not a classic jewelry ring , but a functional tool from the late 19th to early 20th century.
The ring is made of genuine 925 sterling silver , which is visibly proven by the double silver hallmark .
The surface shows clear signs of oxidation and patina , which impressively underscore its authenticity and great age. These were deliberately left untreated to preserve its original condition and collector value.
The permanently attached, extended rod presumably served to guide or stabilize a tool—such as a wax seal, label, or delicate stamp. This type of ring was often worn by officials, craftsmen, or secretaries.
This ring is extremely rare . Similar pieces are found almost exclusively in historical collections or museums.
