Rare original from the period around 1750 to 1810 – a hand-forged silver signet ring with deep blue, stone-like glass paste in the seal head.
This ring most likely originates from the Ottoman, Eastern European or Balkan region , where such pieces were worn as personal identification or guild rings.
The massive proportions, the weight (6.28 g) and the clear, low-detail form indicate an early, non-industrially manufactured version.
The seal stone is smooth, hard and cool – presumably it is made of historic cobalt glass or glass paste , which is confirmed by the violet fluorescence under UV light.
The surface shows traces of an old engraving or monogram structure – as is common with genuine signet rings.
The silver is not hallmarked , which is typical of pre-industrial, regional handcraft in the 18th century.
The ring was not restored but left in its original condition – with authentic aging and collector's patina.
A unique collector's item with museum-like character, ideal for antique lovers, historians, or specialist dealers.
Such rings are hard to find these days – especially not in this unrestored condition.
An investment and a historical object in one.
