Rare antique Victorian chatelaine belt chain from the mid-19th century, made by M. Charnier in France. This exceptionally decorative collectible was originally used to attach pocket watches, keys, or small accessories to a woman's dress or belt.
The chain is crafted from high-quality tombac and lavishly gold-plated , with an ornately designed endpiece and finely crafted links in a diamond pattern. The original snap hook is still intact. Of particular note is the visible maker's mark "M. CHARNIER" – a mark of quality and extremely rare for such pieces.
An impressive piece of Victorian craftsmanship – ideal for collectors, reenactment, costume, museums, or as an exclusive gift.
